Angela’s roots are firmly planted in Small Town USA. She grew up in a tiny Texas town and is currently raising her family in the same, only a few minutes from where she grew up. Don’t be fooled, her small town roots didn’t hold her back from big time goals.
Angela left for Texas Tech in the Fall of 2001 and Wrecked ‘Em hard. It was at Tech that she realized her life would never be ordinary - there was no cookie cutter mold that could contain her! Angela’s passion took root in self-care and she became a self-made and nationally recognized curly hair specialist. Self-care didn’t stop there for Angela - she became a spin instructor to help people truly love the skin they are in.
Angela is bringing her spunky nature and radiant energy to ARISE, and you can prepare for classes firmly planted in her desire to help you become the best version of yourself. Hold on tight - this girl’s got no quit in her!
Shelby is a Kaufman native who grew up right down the road. She left for awhile (14 years, to be exact) to grab a couple of degrees, nab a husband, enjoy a career, and birth a couple of babies.
After she came back, she decided it was time for a career change and became an NASM-certified personal trainer, thus finding her true passion. She has worked in many avenues of the fitness industry, and enjoyed them all. Shelby and Drew started dreaming up the concept for ARISE in 2019, and the rest is history.
Shelby is small, scrappy, and salty but sweet (like a Sour Patch Kid). Her classes will make you love to hate her, or hate to love her, but you’ll always love how you feel when you leave
Growing up, Maricela was the middle child of 7, so she can hold her own in all situations. She loves naps, her kids, and her mama too. She is an instructor by nature - she teaches Sunday school, surgical technology, and proper car seat installation.
Working out was not always Maricela’s forte, but over time she learned to appreciate the benefits of a healthier lifestyle. Now she enjoys hiking, skiing, boxing, spinning, doing yoga & barre, and attempting to play golf. She will go out of her way to challenge and keep you motivated. She is small but mighty & sweet but feisty. Jump in and enjoy the spice!
Meet Chelsey - a Texas gal with a spicy, energetic personality. But don’t let those Texas roots fool you - her go to spin playlist is full of beat dropping hip hop jams! Chelsey has always loved exercise for the mental and physical benefits it provides, but truly fell in love when she found boxing. Shortly after that, she took her first spin class and was immediately hooked.
Chelsey is a superstar nurse, mom, and wife - her love for taking care of people is real, followed closely by her love for teaching them to take care of themselves. She will inspire you to take charge of your health and fitness every day! Her favorite thing is to watch someone transform and see their confidence soar.
Chelsey is the girl you want in your corner. She will be your biggest cheerleader, and your “this is going to be tough…but we are going to DO IT ANYWAY” girl. She cannot wait to push you past your comfort zone for maximum results and a guaranteed good time!
Chasity is a small town redhead with a passion for fitness, especially spin. She began as a novice and quickly grew to love the intense workout a bike can give you. She is one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet, but don’t let that fool you - the workout will be all you can handle. She has a keen ability to motivate and inspire new and advanced riders alike to simply let loose and enjoy life through movement.
Chasity cares deeply about her riders, and there’s nothing of more value to her than helping someone go through an experience that makes them happy, confident, and strong. Dedicated 3rd grade teacher by day, and rock star spin instructor by night!
Shannan grew up in Albuquerque, NM and was transplanted to Scurry, TX after meeting the love of her life. Her most cherished gift is that she was able to raise her favorite mini squad and love them well. She has three children who have left her empty nesting and enjoying every second of it!
Between all the fun chaos of wifin’, mommin’, and building a career...she always found exercising and sweating was her therapy to keep sane. She was casually introduced to a barre class from a friend and remained intrigued at the different techniques, so becoming a barre instructor was the next obvious step.
Shannan wants you to know that her bubbly personality is rivaled by passion for her barre junkies who consistently push her to push them. When she’s not on a mat, she is coloring and counting in the construction industry as a cost estimator or assisting her husband in the insurance world. She will tell you that life has many surprises, but remains convinced that the best parts of life are unplanned!
Hannah is a lover of learning and a believer that movement is medicine. After high school she joined the U.S. Navy, which is where her fitness journey began. She developed a keen desire to learn more about the body and mind through fitness.
She credits fitness with changing her life trajectory and influencing her faith, thus allowing her to grow in both everyday! She loves to connect on a deeper level, helping others find wholeness within themselves.
Hannah is a wife, momma bear to 2 (so far!), and you’ll always find her moving to the beat of the music. She will challenge you to be better from the inside, and connect with your body, mind, and soul in ways you didn’t know were possible. She brings experience, knowledge, and empathy to ARISE everyday
Meet Marisa - a Hispanic girl with a long Texas drawl. Born and raised in Kaufman, Marisa is no doubt loyal to her small town. It was there that she discovered barre and soon became a certified barre instructor. She is 100% convinced that the low impact, slow burn barre provides is therapy for your mind, body, and soul.
Marisa is a wife, mom, and a Gigi to her perfect grandson! She loves to watch her kids play sports, and especially loves the Friday Night Lights. She thoroughly enjoys weekend trips with her three older sisters ANYTIME they can get out of town to celebrate something or nothing at all. She believes in empowering, listening to, and fueling your body with Jesus, nutrition, exercise, and LOVE!
Marisa loves that barre works the entire body from the core and will no doubt leave you SORE! Come experience “barre burn and shakes” with her…..you will not regret it!
Born in the Wild West of Texas, Drew loves to cut a rug to all the Lil’ Wayne, Drake, and King George he can handle. Growing up loving all things sports, one thing is certain - he loves to compete and see people go above and beyond their abilities.
Drew spends his days in operating rooms, and his spare time coaching various sports teams and volunteering. He has always kept his hands in the fitness industry, previously owning a boxing club and training fighters to compete. He and Shelby began dreaming up the concept for ARISE, and there was no turning back.
Drew lives by the quote, “Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the mouth” (The Pound for Pound champion Mike Tyson). That’s exactly what he intends to prepare you for. Life comes hard, fast, and in a fury of punches, and he will help you train to be the fighter that you were meant to be.
Misti grew up in the Kaufman area and is proud to still call it home today. In high school, Misti was a cheerleader and has made sure that her “cheer face” is still on point today!
Misti has a beautiful family with five wonderful children, one of whom passed from this earth after just 3.5 months of life. It is that journey through child-loss that has helped bring her to ARISE, where you’ll find her leading STRETCH classes throughout the week.
Misti is very passionate about physical, mental, and emotional health and loves sharing that passion with others. She is a certified Barre instructor and health coach.
